Painting Sourced in Australia Sets New World Record for Artist Adriaen Coorte at Bonhams
A painting of Three peaches on a stone ledge with a Painted Lady butterfly, which was consigned in Australia sold for £2.1million on Wednesday 7th December 2011 in the Old Master Paintings auction at Bonhams, 101 New Bond Street, London, smashing its pre-sale estimate of £300,000-500,000 and setting a new record price for the Dutch artist Adriaen Coorte.

The 2011 Results from Bonhams' Aboriginal Art Sales Confirm the Company as Market Leader in the Field
Bonhams' auctions of Selected Works from the Estate of Paddy Bedford and Aboriginal Art realised a total of $1,286,273 with 71% of the lots sold on the evening of the 21st November. The year's hammer sales for Aboriginal Art exceeded those of other local competitors, establishing Bonhams as market leaders in only their first year of auctions in the field.
