Collectors and admirers of Canadian art competed for works in oil and watercolour 
in Bonhams&#8217; auction in Toronto on Tuesday evening (Dec. 2, 2008). The sale 
realised CAD$543,000, with 68% of the lots selling (85% by value). These included 
several strong prices for works by Cornelius Krieghoff, A.Y. Jackson, Norval Morrisseau, 
Sybil Andrews, Peter Whyte, and Manly MacDonald.<br>

Because of the growth of buying interest in Modern and Contemporary South Asian 
and Middle Eastern Art, Bonhams has created a new specialist department to service

The new department evolved out of the Indian and Islamic Department, headed by 
Claire Penhallurick, which has grown the Modern and Contemporary area so successfully

A fabulous selection of snuff boxes that highlight the refinement elegance and 
manners of the 18th century will be sold by Bonhams on 3 December.<br><br>
The snuff boxes are part of the Helmut Joseph Collection, the greatest collection 
of porcelain snuff boxes of the 20th Century. Joseph made his collection available 
to the public for many years at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam 1972-2003 and subsequently
